SUDBURY, ONTARIO  ~~~~  July 28, 2020  (LSN)   Just before 4:00 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, July 28, 2020 we received a call regarding a disturbance outside of an establishment on Notre Dame Avenue in Azilda. Information provided was that a man and woman could be heard yelling at each in the parking lot.

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO July 28, 2020 (LSN)  On the 13th of May 2020, at approximately 3:00pm officers of the Thunder Bay OPP detachment responded to a report of human remains in the Wasp Road area which is an Unorganized area north of Highway 11/17 and west of Highway 527. The remains were located by a forest area worker and reported to the police.

OLIVER PAIPOONGE, ONTARIO  ~~~  July 27, 2020  (LSN)  The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge has awarded the tender to construct a new 2,240-square-foot ambulance base on Marian Street in Kakabeka Falls, Ontario to Aurora Construction Ltd. From the new location, Superior North Emergency Medical Services, a division of the City of Thunder Bay’s Development & Emergency Services Department, will provide land ambulance service to nearby municipalities and unincorporated areas. The City of Thunder Bay assumed land ambulance service delivery responsibilities for the north-west region in 2001.

A 40 year old TONY BARNES was arrested and charged with breaching his prohibition order to stay away from parks and children.

FORT FRANCES, ONTARIO  ~~~~   July 25, 2020  (LSN)  On 16 July 2020, officers of the Fort Frances Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in conjunction with the North West Region Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau conducted a search warrant at 300 Third Street West in Fort Frances, ON.  The investigation stemmed from an investigation into seven suspected Fentanyl related overdoses within the Town of Fort Frances and surrounding First Nation Communities 24 hours leading up to the investigation.

KENORA, ONTARIO  ~~~~  July 24, 2020  (LSN)   Ontario is investing $800,000, with $400,000 from the Kenora District Services Board (KDSB), to support a one-year pilot project with the Kenora Bear Clan Patrol to strengthen community safety and well-being of the community’s most vulnerable. The Indigenous-led Kenora Bear Clan Patrol will monitor city streets and public spaces 24 hours, 7 days a week, connecting at-risk community members to support.
