FIRE DANGER IN SUPERIOR NATIONAL FOREST

DULUTH, MINNESOTA, ~~~~  June 26, 2020  (LSN)   With fire danger increasing, in and around the Superior National Forest, campers and day use visitors to the National Forest should be extra vigilant when building and extinguishing campfires.  Currently the drought conditions are similar to the high fire years of 2006 and 2011 - which was the year of the Pagami fire.  With the continued lack of moisture and increase in temperatures, there is the potential for any escaped fire to spread rapidly, especially on windy days.
